Quiz! Who Said It: The National or the Nationals?
Spring is here and baseball is back! The 2019 World Series Champs Nationals start another season (let’s forget about the last few seasons). And at the same time, Grammy-award winning rock band The National starts a long-awaited tour. So, it’s time to test your knowledge.
Can YOU tell who said what?
“Things are going to change. Things are going to change. And I know that. So we just got to keep pounding away, keep playing baseball.”
“I’m so sorry, but the motorcade’ll have to go around me this time, cause God is on my side.”
“Boom.”
“But I’m leaving home and I’m scared that I won’t have the balls to punch a Nazi. Father, what is wrong with me?”
“So you swear you just saw a feathery woman carry a blindfolded man through the trees.”
“He's the epitome of a professional hitter. He's what, he's like 45 years old and still doing this.”
“You didn’t see me, I was falling apart. I was a white girl in a crowd of white girls in the park. You didn’t see me, I was falling apart. I was a television version of a person with a broken heart.”
“They counted us out, they knocked us down, we had injuries early, we didn’t perform like we wanted to, but not one person pointed a finger, no anonymous quotes, no clubhouse lawyers, no backbiting. Loyalty. And that’s why we’re here today.”
“From now on, you can call me ‘Grandpa Shark.’ ”
”Is this how I lose it? Everything at once? Carried to space by a dolphin balloon? Whatever magical thinking you need to hang around your neck, right?”
“Do you guys remember when we brought camels to spring training and everybody laughed at us? Who’s laughing now?”
“I’m going through an awkward phase.”
