WMATA Finally Builds Stop at Georgetown to Make Getting There Even Harder
by J. R. Gudeon
Washington, DC – Last week, WMATA announced plans to build a Georgetown station in an effort to make the desirable hamlet even less accessible to the public.
“We contemplated adding an alligator-filled moat or laying hot coals on incoming roads,” said WMATA’s GM and CEO, Randy Clarke. “But we realized that a regular Metro station would be more painful, time consuming, and frustrating. It’s the perfect way to stave off shoppers who want to invest in the local economy.”
At press time, WMATA threatened to add more stops at other popular destinations, such as the new Wegman’s and the Arboretum.
